The African Diaspora Forum, organized by Bizim Afrika with the support of the Istanbul Office of YTB, Al Selam and Divan Association kicked off on the 24 of February 2024, at the Istanbul Commerce University, Republic of Türkiye. This distinguished event saw the participation of esteemed guests and dignitaries, marking a significant moment in fostering dialogue and collaboration within the African diaspora community.

Among the notable figures present were H.E Prof. Dr. Abdülhamit Avşar, Rector of the Istanbul Commerce University, H.E. Mr. Emre Oruç, Coordinator of the YTB Istanbul office, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Mariami, Consul General of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Ms. Salamatu Yakubu, Consul General of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Mr. Khalid Alkhair Dfalla Abuaagla, Acting Consul General of the Republic of the Sudan, H.E. Mr. Domingos Camilo Buanga, Vice-Consul General of the Republic of Angola, along with representatives from the Consulates general of the Republic of Libya and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The forum's theme, "The African Diaspora in Türkiye: Experiences, Challenges and Engagements"," resonated throughout the event, reflecting the shared experiences and aspirations of the African diaspora in Türkiye. Their Excellencies Prof. Dr. Abdülhamit Avşar, Mr. Mohamed Mariami, and Mr. Emre Oruç delivered insightful speeches on behalf of their respective institutions, highlighting the importance of collaboration and solidarity in addressing common challenges and leveraging opportunities for growth and development.

Additionally, the General Coordinator of Bizim Afrika, Mr. Faroukou Mintoiba, delivered an inspiring opening speech, setting the tone for a fruitful and engaging program. The African Diaspora Forum is organized by Bizim Afrika with the generous support of the Istanbul Office of YTB, Al Selam, and Divan Association, underscoring the collective effort and commitment to advancing the interests and well-being of the African diaspora community in Türkiye.

The general coordinator of Bizim Afrika, Faroukou Mintoiba, in his speech, invited the Diaspora members to embrace the spirit of unity, resilience, and innovation, charting a course towards a brighter and more prosperous future for all Africans in Türkiye and beyond.
