Empowering African Youth Leaders in Türkiye: Bizim Afrika's Capacity Building Initiative

At Bizim Afrika, we recognize the indispensable role of African youth leaders in fostering peace, development, and social cohesion. That's why we are thrilled to announce our upcoming initiative, the "Capacity Building Training for Leaders of African Associations and Platforms in Türkiye." This program is designed to empower African youth leaders residing in Türkiye by enhancing their skills and knowledge in NGO management and leadership.

Empowering African Youth Leaders: Objectives

Our training program is geared towards achieving several key objectives:

Comprehensive Training: Equipping African leaders in Türkiye with essential skills and knowledge for effective NGO management and leadership.

Empowerment: Empowering leaders to be more effective and impactful in their roles, enabling significant contributions to their communities and organizations.

Tools for Success: Providing participants with the necessary tools for success in the NGO sector.

Sustainable Growth: Empowering participants to grow sustainably and foster collaborative partnerships within the NGO sector for long-term impact.

Strategic Planning: Educating leaders on planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to navigate challenges and achieve organizational objectives.

Networking and Collaboration: Highlighting the importance of networking in organizational development and providing strategies for building strong networks among participants and organizations.

Promotional Strategies: Teaching effective promotional strategies to raise awareness and visibility for organizations, amplifying their impact within the community.

Legal Compliance: Educating organizations on local rules and procedures in Türkiye to operate ethically and transparently within the legal framework.

Values-Driven Culture: Encouraging the development of a values-driven culture within organizations, fostering integrity, accountability, and ethical behavior.

Eligibility Criteria and Modules

Eligible participants should be between 18 and 35 years old, residing in Istanbul or its neighborhood, and currently hold or aspire to leadership positions within African associations, platforms, or NGOs in Türkiye. Proficiency in English and a commitment to actively engage in all aspects of the training program are also required.

The training comprises nine sessions covering various aspects of NGO management and leadership, including understanding the NGO landscape, strategic management, networking, collaboration, legal procedures, and core values.

Target Audience and Details

The target audience for this training includes leaders of African Associations and Platforms in Türkiye. Scheduled for 11-12 May 2024, with each day consisting of 4 hours of training, the sessions will be provided by Ms. Tuğba Ceren Cerci, an Independent Expert in Civil Society Management.

By the end of the training, participants are expected to gain valuable insights and skills that will contribute significantly to the growth and sustainability of their respective associations and platforms. We are excited to embark on this journey of empowerment and collaboration, paving the way for a brighter future for African youth leaders in Türkiye.
